As a board-certified sleep physician and Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Eric Nofzinger, MD, is passionate and dedicated to finding successful sleep solutions.

Dr. Nofzinger conducted brain imaging studies that led to identifying a breakthrough solution to treat insomnia. By gently cooling the forehead with a precise, clinically-proven therapeutic range, Ebb Insomnia Therapy reduces activity in the frontal cortex (part of the brain behind the forehead) to help calm racing thoughts and get people to sleep quicker without unwanted side-effects.

Dr Nofzinger led fundraising including $2M non-dilutive federal grants and over $80M in series A, B and C venture backed financing (KKR, Versant Ventures, Arboretum Ventures, Technology Partners, Partner Ventures).

  • Authored 45 patents to protect IP portfolio of company.

  • Recruited and hired top-tier key C-level management team to lead company in product development and commercialization including sales and marketing.

  • Provided leadership as Board Member and Chief Medical Officer in directing emerging company.

  • Designed, conducted, interpreted and published over 10 clinical trials from Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV, including pivotal multi-center randomized controlled trials leading to FDA De Novo 510(k) clearance

  • Successfully managed all clinical research interactions with FDA in securing FDA clearance

  • Nurtured key relationships with academic clinical research thought leaders internationally

  • Collaborated with sales and marketing teams in development of branding, and sales messaging and in communicating these messages in all sales channels.

  • Served as PR spokesperson and brand identity of company and product in all marketing and PR efforts

  • Worked with Board and senior management on exit merger with another sleep technology company and additional funding.
